‘Albert Hofmann is dead’, discoverer of LSD, a hoax!

At very least, it sure would seem like it.

Albert Hofmann is dead. (via DoseNation).

I think it would have been prudent to simply wait for the news to break the story. CNN has nothing. MSNBC only has one article, about wine, that references him. The BBC has three articles about him, but none pertaining to his death. There is nothing, nada on the wire.

It has definitely hit the blogosphere. Its ramped up on reddit too (This guy says he has personal, inside information to back it up). They were citing wikipedia, which at the time was saying (January 11, 1906 – April 29, 2008), and was referencing the reddit page as its source (circular citations!?). It has since been changed by the hordes of wikipedia nuts out there.

I think, given the time lapse since it was reported on reddit and how the mainstream media have still not picked up on it, this is probably true.
