happiness?

Google Reader just lost its fucking mind and pulled about 1500+ posts from the grave, all listed as ‘unread’. I did notice a few things I had missed over the last few days, but damn.
My human relationships tend to sharpen the stick more than anything else. Mostly, this pertains to human interaction, sex included. I find that conversation can make cheer me up more often than not.
I’ve also noticed that the acquisition of stuff has a very short-term effect on my happiness and is cost-prohibitive, while human contact stays with you (not to mention the brain’s bizarre habit of making memories more positive than they really were), even if only in strange chunks, for a long time and is essentially free.
Status, though? I hadn’t considered it really, and now I’m going to have to do some pondering on how it affects me.
