Why the GOP is losing

Gingrich has seven valid points out of nine. You guess which two I disagree with.

I’m mostly turned off of the GOP by the social conservative bent that seems to follow it around. I want the legalization of drugs and prostitution. I want to see the focus of social norms to return to good parenting rather than government babysitting. I don’t like how the legal age limit for things differ. I want the 54 year old law that put ‘In God We Trust’ on our currency repealed. I don’t like the idea of an official language. I do like their take on fiscal matters, reduction in taxes, and so forth however. They just can’t woo me if they keep busting kids for dope and blaming it on video games, though.

But when they talk about downsizing the government in a realistic way, I’m all for it. If you replace ‘repeal the gas tax’ with ‘repeal the war on drugs’ and ‘Declare English as the official language’ with ‘institute the Fair Tax’, I’d probably have a politigasm.

Honestly, I think the Republicans and the Democrats need to trade about %50 of each of their parties with each other. That way we won’t have poorly camouflaged Democrats like McCain running around on the GOP ticket anymore.
