played some texas hold’em -and won something

I placed 8th out of 1162 in a free tournament tonight; I cashed out with $11.50. This isn’t too bad considering the no cost entry. Besides, it’s fun and I would have been playing the free games anyway. There’s a similar tourney tomorrow night. Maybe I’ll learn my lesson about discipline and rank a little higher.

Either way, I can go play on the cash tables (pennies, nickels, etc.) for, effectively, no cost. This is more enjoyable because A) there is some sort of risk involved and B) the players take the game more seriously and use more skill than those at the ‘play money’ tables.

I miss the weekly game I had a few years back. I never got rich, but after a year was about even (considering how much of my ass I lost during the first six months).
