I really dislike Sarah Palin, and amongst the anti-Palin poo being flung about I caught this:

Coming from a family of southerners, I learned early on that “state’s rights” is code for opposition of integration and abortion.

Which really bothers me because I know it all too well, and being a proponent of states’ rights it really makes me die a little bit inside. I am pro-choice and for integration. Yet I am for states’ rights.

Unfortunately, state’s rights could be used to enforce creationism in schools, segregation and a whole mess of other things, which makes the situation shitty. I’m opposed to the federal government acting as nanny to the state governments, but then they go ahead and prove that they cannot be bothered to fucking treat their citizens properly. The state’s constantly give reason for the federal government to tighten its grip.

But this is true:

Because she’s a fucking moron. And a fucking moron shouldn’t be a heartbeat away from—or anywhere near—the presidency.

And she was the wrong person to pick if McCain wanted to try and sweep up some of the Clinton voters. Feinstein or Pelosi are more along those lines, and he wouldn’t go near them with a ten foot pole.
