maybe… screw pragmatism?

The New Yorker has a very good run-down of Bob Barr (that libertarian guy, again!?) up. It’s worth reading, especially if you’re undecided or “grudgingly voting for Obama because McSucks sucks.” It also explains a little about libertarians and why they’re viewed as wackos (principals don’t go far these days, where pragmatism is king).
It is really a shame that 9/10 people say to me, “Who is Barr?” but one I can understand: with everything going on, who would pay attention to some third-party candidate who hasn’t recieved any important endorsements and can’t afford much of a campaign? I think Ron Paul, whose own campaign was mismanaged, could have done a lot to help the LP had he chose to. Jesse Ventura could do a lot, too. These guys have gravitas, right, and their words bring in votes.
I’m dying, and this is the cancer.
