Pelosi: Contraception is Good Stimulus For the Economy

Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi on birth-control funding as part of the $825
billion stimulus package: “Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They
reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of
what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to
help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the
initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states
and to the federal government.”

Land of the Laws says…

I have to admit… in a way I agree with Nancy Pelosi (sound of record
scratching). The welfare state is a complete and total failure. It’s so bad in
fact that on average each person is a net loss. Isn’t that what she’s really
saying? This should come as no surprise considering we’re $10 Trillion in debt,
Social Security is going bankrupt, and Pelosi’s own state of California is so
pathetic that they’ve stopped paying their bills.

The point isn’t economic function here. The point is the promotion of contraception.

Contraception is a boon to people who like the free entertainment it provides. Poor people have more kids because sex is (relatively) free when compared to jet-skiing. Providing them with condoms prevents poor kids. Win-win.

Especially for men. I’m pegging James Pethokoukis as a douche and the guy from Land of the Laws as too dense to see this for what it is (although enlightened enough to be in favor of it).

This proposal empowers people to have more guilt-free, casual sex. This is bad for A) Feminists and B) Men that pander to feminists. This is bad for hopeless romantics that don’t use being a hopeless romantic as a gimmick. This is bad for women who want to trap men with children (same reasons apply to being opposed to abortion). This is bad for those who place their morals above individuality.

This proposal is not meant to stop certain people from breeding. It’s a plot against women who think their uterus can be used against men (by empowering them to have sex without consequences). Take that, Vatican!
