not in gordon anymore

i recently spent the day at the pool owned by our new apartment. there were a few kids in the pool, and the parents were sitting outside. it was pretty quiet. i was enjoying the feeling of my skin melting off in the face of the golden hot ass sun. anyway thats besides the point. the children were talking about random things, when the mother of a young boy told the other kids that his father was in heaven. my wife looked at me because the lady said it fairly loud. i thought it was one of those times where someone puts out their life in front of everyone for some attention or something of the sorts. with my sunglasses on i glanced over to her to see who said something that out of the blue in public. well, i caught her putting a set of old dog tags around her neck and laying back down.

holy shit, it hit me. flash forward to one year, maybe less could this be the future of my families life. the last base i was at, the possiblity of me deploying-10%

and what about the new base you say? well Jimmy lets just say i havent even had my first day at work yet and people around here are telling me not to unpack.

finally in my time in the army there is a serious possibility of deployment and an uncertain chance or not comming back.

that woman at the pool that day brought me into reality really damn quick.

this will be in the memoirs that i shall write called the stewart chronicles
