How I am wasting my time

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Audiotool is pretty sick. It’s retardedly simple to produce some pretty amazing electronic music, and you can record/save your beats. Very cool stuff.

Pirates

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

In honor of the sniping of three Somali pirates (BOOM! HEADSHOT!) I watched Pirates of the Great Salt Lake. What are you doing to celebrate?

PoTGSL is one of the best indie flicks ever made. You really cannot beat it. Nothing is over-done, there’s good production value and you can’t really make fun of it – you can only laugh at what you’re supposed to.

Food Review: Kasugai 5-pack Gummies

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

These things are weird but kinda tasty. My roommate gave me a 5-pack that he got for 50 cents at some local Japanese grocer that was going out of business last night. I’m munching through the apple flavored ones right now.

They’re sweet in a fruit-juice sort of way, which is pleasant distinction from gummy bears but a little unsettling because I expect the corn-syrupy sweetness without any real flavor besides the sugar.

If you can find them at a local store, they shouldn’t cost more than a buck or two. Get’em.

Five Reviews in Five minutes

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008
  1. mc chris – mc chris is dead: lacks the catchy hooks and feels repetitive, the beats seemingly produced by a late 90’s video game musician.
  2. Ghost World: pretentious girl gets what’s coming to her; stylish and entertaining.
  3. Easy All-Stars – Radiodread: Too many contributing artists breakup the flow and cohesion of the album, making it far less pleasing than Dub Side of the Moon.
  4. Pennywise – Reason to Believe: Better than some of their stuff, but nothing truly outstanding.
  5. RX Bandits – …and the battle begun: More reggae, less punk; more jam-band, less pop.

That’s what I’ve been consuming lately. I’m still working on a couple of reviews (Tsunami Rising, Audition, Bear Vs. Shark, If You Were Me, etc.) but I figured that these didn’t really need too much analysis. They’re all pretty good, and worth the listen/watch. Note that a lot of it is older, too. I just get around to things whenever I damn well choose, it seems.
